Writing Prompt
For writing this week you will be focusing on the descriptive language we have been learning to do. This provides interest for the reader. Remember to use adjectives and adverbs. We are looking for around 15 sentences of quality writing not heaps of pages. Below is the writing prompt that we would have used last week with an example of the type of language you could use. This is only an example, we would like your own words and imagination.
Here is an example of the type of descriptive language we are looking for:
Night was drawing close. I could feel the storm in the air. We needed to set up camp quickly or we would be in grave danger. Silently we worked together and erected the small survival tent to protect us from the cold and driving snow. Nervously we waited. First to arrive was the howling roar of the wind. The whole tent started to sway and then violently shake as we sat helplessly in the middle huddling to protect ourselves. I could feel the fear rise up inside me. Suddenly a rumbling started and it grew louder and louder like a freight train was thundering towards us. Oh no, could it be an avalanche?
