Heres what we have in store for you this week:
- Daily Challenge
- Maths - Mild, Medium, Spicy or Ghost Chilli
- Wild Card for extra acttivities
- Literacy - this week is based around our Inquiry - 'Extreme Environments' and will begin your individual projects
- Lockdown sharing - please post your learning onto the padlet to share with your whanau
Your GUIDE for this week's Literacy:
- Go onto the Blog and open Literacy >> Inquiry.
- Look at the Learning Map which covers activities for Reading, Writing, Phonics and the Inquiry tasks.
- Scroll down and watch Whaea Trudi's video on how to begin your project
- You will also find the Inquiry template mild/ medium/ spicy in this tab. Select the best fit for you and print it off if you are able. If not, use google docs or paper. This is a guide to help you with starting your project.
- Once you have selected your 'Extreme Environment' go to the Exploration tab to gain more information and links to valuable information
- You need to come up with 3 open-ended questions
- Understand what types of questions you will need to create open Literacy >> Inquiry >> Asking Questions.
- Follow your Inquiry template and try your best to complete it and share your findings under on the Padlet in your Extreme Environment tab.
Lockdown Week 1
Our programme this week has the following elements:
The research information you will need for literacy is under the exploration page above (as we have been using in our literacy programme this term)
- Daily Challenge
- Literacy activities based on our extreme environment and exploration theme
- Numeracy activities (choice of mild, medium or spicy - you opt for the page that suits your level and will provide some challenge)
- Phonics practise
- Being safe on the internet

- You will find the information needed for their Polar Research under the Exploration tab at the top of the blog.
- The children can also access their EPIC reading accounts at www.getepic.com/sign-in/educator and sign in using the code aiv8215
- They can also access some free Jump Jam routines at https://www.jumpjam.co.nz/lockdown21 this is a fun way to get the family moving and keep the children active.
